Why aren't women gushing over Hemsworth?

Don't women find men handsome or sexy anymore? Why don't we get threads from women who adore heroes like Hemsworth in these movies? Why is it all they can talk about is how beautiful the female characters? Is that who they secretly want to be with? The women?

reply

I say, why are you so concerned about whether other men are considered handsome or sexy by women?

What's missing in movies is same as in society: a good sense of work ethic and living up to ideals.

reply

LukeLovesFilm I think you raise a good point.

I for one am excited to see Hemsworth in this movie. I just wish they hadn't given him such a questionable wig.

reply

Because he's a man. This society has become so gyynocentric that the female body is now seen as the most perfect human form. Men are generally seen as having tools of oppression rather than tools of pleasure and stimulation. By fighting for more love for Chris Hemsworth, I'm fighting for love for all men.

reply

I agree with you on that one…

I am a homosexual and I love the Male Form. Though you get a ton of action stars in really good shape showing their attributes… I often hear people say stripper girls are prettier cause of the female form is more pleasant, and if you mention stripper guy; he's often reduced to a penis...

I am more excited for the Women as they seem to be all flamboyant over the top in both acting and wardrobe….

Him not so much, looks like every other hunk you see in movies or gay adult entertainment…

And yes I am in love with Tom Hardy and Capt America….

I'll tell you my little story. I have never been one of those "effeminately beautiful" men. I am just not metrosexual at all. And after 20 years of "Romeo and Juliet" era DiCaprio, Orlando Bloom and Justin Bieber I just wish that once, just once in my life the beauty ideal could be guys like me. Big, strong, masculine.

Personally, I could not care less about Chris Hemsworth as a person. But for the first time in a long time I see a real chance that the beauty ideal for men (at least for a while) might not involve plucking your eyebrows and taking duck face selfies.

reply

I think my beauty ideal is precisely a guy like you.

Add to that you're one of the few who know to say "I could not care less..." instead of "I could care less" appropriately, I'm duly impressed...

reply

I like your point. I also think that another big guy, Chris Pratt is all over the map now too.

People just look diffrent, especially men when it comes to what's considered attractive.

Some guys like Chris Zylka or Nicholas Hoult are "pretty boys" while Helmswoth or Pratt are a little more burly and handsome.

It takes all kinds.

reply

I adore Chris for more than just his looks though, but either way IMDb is a pretty crappy place for opinions (Well the whole internet is, whom I kidding). So I keep 'gushing' to a minimum on here and instead share it with other people who likes him. Simple as that.

reply

I for one am not talking about how beautiful these women are. Or how handsome Hems is. Their looks are not what interest me. I'm talking more about the women because they happen to be actresses I like for their, you know, acting. I haven't seen Chris in much largely because most of the films he does don't interest me so I don't really have reason to talk about him.

But talking about nothing but peoples looks is so teenager-y, I'll pass.

So you can't find people sexually stimulating? Are you one of those asexual people?

reply

I do. I just don't feel the need to talk for hours a day about peoples looks.

You must be a fun person to be around. Or are you just a judgemental ass on the internet that bases their opinion of someone on a few sentences?

...well, I'm pretty sure that Hemsworth has plenty of female fans, but there were some articles that women are more "flexible" with their sexuality. It is actually why there was some difficulty in creating a "female viagra". For males, sexuality is highly biased towards biology (testosterone, generally), but apparently for women, it is related more to about mind / body.

reply

It's cause there's 3 beautiful women compared to just 1 good looking man. Plus lots of better looking actors than Hemsworth while Theron is at the absolute top of the beauty list and Blunt comes in real close.

The women's beauty just outshines the male beauty in this movie.

If you had a movie with Matt Bomer, a young Brad Pitt, and Channing Tatum and then Jessica Chastain as the only female, everyone would be talking about the guys.

So let's recap.

Sexiest woman alive: Emily Blunt ....?
Jessica Chastain ...?

Sexiest man alive: Chris Hemsworth - People 2015

Sexiest man alive: Chris Hemsworth - People 2015

People magazine must not have taste. His only advantage is his steroid induced body (can't imagine that's natural).

Those rankings are a popularity contest anyway. Blunt will get it too if she ever has an "it" girl year.

Chastain - yeah she's just ok looking but she makes it 3 women to 1 man.

You really think that if it wasn't 3 guys to 1 woman the board would be talking about the woman over the guys?

reply

I actually agree with you about the majority of star actors here being women then that's why the focus in on them.

Beauty or attractiveness is obviously subjective, however you mentioned that Chris was chosen due to popular vote, like that's a bad thing. And his 'winning' that year was a lot more universally agreed upon than other years. But that fact that it's a popular vote, doesn't that make it better as a win.

I merely included my previous bit of trivia to change up the conversation. All 3 ladies are stunning in their own way.

reply

I gush more about female beauty, mostly in vintage films, but Hemsworth looks better like this, when he has no Thor wig. Don´t get me wrong, nothing against Thor, but when we are speaking about looks here... 

reply

I think audiences have grown a little tired of him, frankly.

And I think it has been proven that he is NOT a box office draw except as Thor.

reply

I don't think that's true. Most movies don't seem to make much money other than Hollywood blockbusters. You could cast anyone else in his roles and they wouldn't do better.
Besides there are 3 females, big names, in this movie and it didn't help anything.

Who says I'm not?
