last scene at the hosoital

The hospital building was the national psychiatric hospital for woman. They could have picked a normal modern hospital! Not in he budeget....sloppy

reply

Did it visibly say it was a women's psychiatric hospital in the movie? If not, then thats the stupidest criticism ever. As long as it looks likr a hospital then its fine for a movie. By that logic youd have a problem with any movies filmed on a set too

reply

before you criticize you should know what you are talking about
YES it did say that...that was the purpose of the comment.
It looked like a crappy hospital...not a place where you would treat that type of injury. It makes the movie look even more absurd.
that was a location not a set.

reply

How does this 'mistake' make this movie more absurd?! Let's say it was a mistake, you could still make a point in saying that the character driving was looking for a hospital and when he saw this he figured this is good enough. It's not like they are doctors or anything, and it's not like this ward doesn't have doctors to fix him up especially if it looks like its an emergency.

Either way, it works. And it's not like the characters had an option on what hospital to go to, they did just steal!!!

reply

This movie was bad, but not because of this mistake. It was bad because it was extremely cheesy and all the characters were extremely one dimensional. I am not surprised that Will Smith is in this. He is the Michael bay of actors. Just terrible choices. The acting was not bad. I just thought the movie was absolutely terrible. If I did not get a chance to watch this for free, I would not have paid even $1 for it. I just came to IMDB to see if others felt like this. I don't understand how this script got the green light with such big name actors. 1/10.

reply

Yes, this is a picture of the place if you watch the movie you´ll see the words "Hospital Nacional Neuro-Psiquiátrico de Mujeres" so it's a Neuropsychiatric hospital.

reply

Seriously?

reply

yep seriously. made the last scene even more ridiculous

reply

it was a hospital but it didn't look very "modern". there must have been better looking hospitals in the area. but i think that was the point - because they were broke.

reply

broke? the dad took all the money. Nobody charges for an emergency service anywhere in the world, much less in a socialized medicine country like argentina

reply

"Nobody charges for an emergency service anywhere in the world."

 Good one.

When I'm gone I would like something to be named after me. A psychiatric disorder, for example.

reply

"Nobody charges for an emergency service anywhere in the world."
That is one of the funniest things I have ever read on IMDB.

Paco, don't get sick or hurt in the US. You go to the ER in America, when you get your bill, you will die from the shock alone.

reply

Wow...

Yeah, umm...if you ever come to the U.S., don't get hurt because you will be in for a HUGE surprise.

reply

In movies and in real life, it isn't unusual to go to less than top-notch places for medical care. Some people even go place like veterinarian offices.

The one thing I did say was, "look at that ambulance." It was filthy (which I'm totally unaccustomed to seeing in the US, they are washed constantly).

reply

It's a good thing that most Americans don't speak Spanish or travel to South America very often, otherwise it would be a problem.

reply

it is called ATENTION to DETAIL.
ridiculous emergency service vans parked in front...what kind of emergency service is that? not even in the poorest country in south amrica you will see something like that

reply

So people from outside the US are not supposed to watch the movie? hahaha you can hate the comment, but that is the worst argument possible.

reply

How do you know that?

I'll admit as they were walking towards I thought to myself it looked like a museum moreso than a hospital, but who cares!!!!

reply

well, I care...it is not about being perfect. Do they want to imply, that that is what hospitals look like in Argentina? well insulting to say the least.
Who knows, maybe the ran out of money for the last scene. Surely they ran out of good movie making standards.

reply

I didn't pick up on the fact it wasn't a normal hospital. Wasn't that obvious in the film. And I think the reason they went to a crappy looking hospital was so they were less likely to ask questions. Since he was shot and all

reply

There was a sign saying Emergencias or emergencies. Do you get those outside psychiatric hospitals?

reply

absolutely not. very poor setup of ambulances and some lights (don't know what that was about)

reply

this guy paco... what a silly person.

it is a place where they can take care of his wound. hospital, vet, ... period

now let me explain you something about movies... they use different places for filming movies and those places dont need to be as in real life are.

like in Wolverine, when wolverine was in Tokyo he came into a hotel and next scene they are inside a room, of course that room has to be in the building they show before... guess what.

in the real life the in front of that building is the commonwealth bank of australia in Sydney (i used to work there) and that building has no hotel rooms of course, its a office building, but they used it as a hotel in Tokyo, Japan.

its just a movie and that is normal in movies.

reply

There are also psychiatric emergencies, but typically not the need for so many ambulances..

reply

This may be one of the stupidest posts I've ever seen.

reply

by looking at your face and the moniker... I'm not surprise of your idiotic comment. Make a comment...but being disrespectful is not necessary. The comment is absolutely valid on a film that was a piece of crap from start to finish....and the "finish" absurd. Yours definitely wins the stupidest post for ignorance. You are no Ebert *beep*

reply

Hey if you post a topic, you better be ready for the freedom of speech. Can you really say your op was so "respectful" of the director, writer, actors...etc of this film. It was your opinion right? So just buck up and take it. I didn't love the film but it wasn't the worst I have ever scene. The "hospital" at the end didn't change anything for me and that is my opinion. :)
