I wonder if she'll stay black when a new actress replaces her? Weird to change something as significant as her race because Moneypenny isn't a codename, unless the movies decided to make it so.
shareSince they've hired a new generation of white men to play M and Q, my guess is that the next Moneypenny will be anything but white.
If they replace her before they replace the M and Q actors, of course, and why should they? She's a very good actor, but not such a big name that they can't afford to keep using her.
Naomi Harris is a great actress and I buy her as Moneypenny, I don't really care if she's black or white. As far as MI6 goes, as long as they are British or at least sound British and they can play the part well I really don't care. We also now have a black Felix Leiter and that didn't ruin the character.
shareFelix Leiter was black in 1983 played by Bernie Casey in Never Say Never Again. That character has a different actor in nearly every appearance! A shame they couldn’t keep Jack Lord in the early films, just for continuity.
