How is this show?

The first season is awesome.
Capt Flint is driven like Ahab chasing Moby Dick to capture a Spanish treasure ship.
Other seasons are good, but #1 is the best.

It's great, I'd recommend it.

An interesting show, unfortunately it throws in real characters with made up characters and doesn't get all the facts straight with the real historical characters so while it is entertaining it is annoying to anyone that is familiar with the actual figures of that time period. It would have been a better show if they had simply made up all the names of character so you wouldn't be expecting one to die or survive based on what really happened only to sometimes find that the writers didn't always stick to history.

Other complaint is that they throw in too much sex. I have no problem with sex in shows, but often times they seem to have been trying a Game of Thrones type throw in some gratuitous sex just for the sake of doing it rather than for it needing to be there for the story, so sometimes it just comes across as manufactured as if they were just throwing in the scenes in the hopes of getting viewers... often it isn't even warranted and seems out of place which is the real problem. A show like this has a limited amount of time per episode, so don't throw in 3 minutes of titties when it forces the actual story to get short changed. If I only cared about titties I'd be watching porn.

Highly recommended. Well worth your time watching.
