What a boring soapy mess...

The only good things were Carrie-Anne Moss and Killgrave's cameo which kind of made me think that if it wasn't for Tennant I probably wouldn't have liked the first season either.

I'll give Daredevil season 3 a chance but if it sucks too I'm done with the this TV Marvel U.

I thought I was watching a Lifetime tv series about a superhero's reconciliation with her mother. There were so many childhood stories, painful memories and frank mother-daughter talks. All the men were pigs who ran around trying to screw people. It was great to see Malcom get a real job with Cheng instead of being pissed on by Jessica for another season. I'm looking forward to future seasons of Defenders, Daredevil, Iron Fist and Punisher.

Defenders and Iron Fist - a big no.
Luke Cage I don't get. African-American street culture is alien to me as life of Yakutian deer herders.
DD I'll give a chance.

reply

Well then, more for me to enjoy and like.

Bring on Cage 2 (thatโ€™s right, son) and DD3!

reply

I didn't say LC was bad. Just not for me.

At fist i felt you were exaggerating. But i'm on episode 9 now and the mother daughter reunion bonding stuff and Trish's constant brooding is really getting sappy. It went from lets stop a violent deranged scary killer to lets stop and talk about are feelings, shed some tears and heal old wounds.

Just finished it and mostly agree. Season one was much better and Killgrave left too large of a hole to fill. Surprisingly I was rooting for Carrie Anne Moss as well as she was great. I still enjoyed it for the most part, although Trish was quite annoying.

I'll be optimistic for season 3. Definitely looking forward to DD season 3.

reply

I remember not liking the lawyer's story ark in season one but here Moss was simply brilliant.

reply

Soooo....I guess I shouldn't bother with this then? Everyone keeps telling me I'd love this series for Tennant's bad guy, but I'm wondering whether it's worth it if that's the only thing it has going for it. I can't stand Krysten Ritter (it's either her face, or I despised her Breaking Bad character THAT much ๐Ÿ˜‚), so I'd need there to be enough pay-off for having to sit through an entire series of her.

reply

Jessica Jones is that junky girlfriend from Breaking bad, except she didn't die and has superpowers-ish.

reply

Is David Tennant's character worth it?

reply

Oh, he's worth every second of screen time he gets in JJ season 1.

reply

Season 1 is definitely worth it. Tennant steals the show and is imo one of the best villains Marvel has put on screen. Season 2 certainly suffers from lack of a good villain so you may not like it, but I would recommend season 1 to any CB fan.

reply

I'll give it a try, then. I'd sit through a lot to get to a great villain. ๐Ÿ˜ Who knows, maybe it'll soften me to Krysten Ritter. I feel a bit bad about disliking her because of her BB character...such a stupid reaction! ๐Ÿ˜‚ (but I can be a silly bitch.)
