JUST WATCHED, GOOD FIRST HALF, TERRIBLE SECOND HALF

I thought the opening of the original couldn't be beat.

I just watched the first half and came over to see what the people say - and the reason why I came over to see the people's reaction is because the first half wasn't that great.

The script - the dialogue, the humor bits all combined with Cruise's horrible acting - he is not bad at serious roles, but in the comedy bits, he is really, really bad. As such, to me, the first half of the film was very cringy.

The first five minutes though? they were OK.

If the first half was OK for you, I dread to think how bad the second half will be. Anyways, gonna see the second half now.

Edit: So - just finished the film. I would say that while the first half of the film was dreadful, filled with tons of horrible jokes and bad acting, the second half was substantially better. I suspect that it's because the humor bits were gone, so Cruise's horrible comedic acting didn't spoil things as much. Also, that's where Russel Crowe's character shows up - which definitely helps. All in all, due to the much better second half, this film is OK-ish.
