A father tries to track down his kidnapped daughter... how original !

I thought this movie was superb and I also felt Taken was extremely well done also. It seemed very realistic and I appreciate the way it only touched on the tools of how these crimes are investigated as to not give away how this process really takes place to the pedophiles. These creeps don't need any tip-offs on investigative procedures.

These days it's very tough to tell a good story without all the gore and shock that it normally takes to get today's generation to feel anything. Most people dont know how to use their imaginations anymore and need it spoon fed to them. I'd say an age group of 38 and above who remember what the world was like when we were left to our imaginations was like. I hope that more of this type of writing is put to the screen so the brain dead can learn to feel again.

Why should there be movies at all, for that matter, in particular about any crime, since there are already several movies on that topic, or about prisoners, or killers or whatever?

Commando with good old Arnie was the even before Man in Fire. And this is all I thought of when I first sat through Taken

Have you seen the movie? He doesn't try to track down the killers. All he does is put up "missing" posters which is pretty normal for parents in that situation.

He would have been a fool not to follow the woman who was posing as a reporter, and once he did that everything quickly unfolded.
