Detectives thinking that it was Dad...

What reason did they have to believe that he was somehow behind this whole thing? Debts? Financial troubles? The fact that he was the last person to see her? Wow! That was absolutely frustrating to watch - "so is she 9 or 10?!" haha.. It was frustrating to the point where it became hilarious..

Parents are always the first suspects, and the first questioned before they move further with an investigation...... HOWEVER, they carried that possibility for WAY too long. And the explanation for the one cop to be so adamant in his suspicions with "He reminds me of someone I knew". Well if they're going to go with that explanation then they really need to explain it somehow. Either a scene, or dialog of him explaining the case with the person he knew, so that we MIGHT have it make more sense.

That's always the first suspect though as when someone goes missing it's almost always the family or someone close to them that are the assailant. They might have overdid it though a bit with the 9 or 10 bit.

I can see why the police would look into the father, since he was the last person to see her alive and often kidnappings are carried out by family members.

But the part of assuming that the motive was to pay off debts by "selling" her to a rapist was pretty ridiculous. It would be so unprofessional if a detective just jumped to this conclusion without any evidence whatsoever

I was only able to watch about 3/4 of the film before I decided to watch something else
