It'll probably get ONE more film to wrap things up. And if that's the case, more than likely whatever plot Covenant had set up for the next film will be disregarded, just like the plot set up at the end of Prometheus was kind of disregarded in Covenant.

Ridley Scott screwed up the timeline so much that he doesn't even know how to move forward in time after this plot abortion. I'm thinking he'll introduce a time machine to the alien universe as a fix for all of the plot holes he's created.
