I'm really looking to this show which is currently filming, I believe. To have Ben Foster, one of my favourite actors, starring in a show penned by Pizzolatto writer of True Detective, well it can't get any better than that.
A decent movie... but the ending could have been better. No problem with what happens to the characters in the end... but if you were a hitman that was screwed over by someone that had hired you, if you ended up doing 15 or 20 years in prison because of that person, wouldn't you have made it your mission in life to kill the SOB when you finally got out? You could kind of tell this movie was made by a woman because of that soft forgive them and not seek revenge ending.
Never much of a fan of Pizzolatto, his first season of True Detective was fine, but the follow up was a mess... add to that the Magnificent Seven rehash and at the moment he seems a bit like one hit wonder.
Maybe. But his books do well.
And I think TD 1st season was over rated myself.
It had great performances and that continuous shot in the apts was amazing. But everyone watching seemed to expect a whole lot more than it turned out to be. The message boards were jumping with speculation and expectations that came to nothing
And I thought the 2nd season was better than given credit for.
I liked The Magnificent Seven...or it was better than expected. It wasn't as good as the original but it still was an entertaining, well acted movie.
Sometimes it's hard to find just pure entertainment anymore.
i miss the IMDB boards when popular shows were airing and every week people were discussing where the plot was going, etc,
the TD board had all kinds of wild predictions and people were really digging into symbolism and the smallest of "hints" at where the show was headed
I thought of this too but figured that Stan (Bridges) probably died when Roy was in prison. Assuming that Stan was approximately Bridges' age in the movie, he was already in his late-70s when Roy first went to prison.
