As much as I want this show to get another seasson you're probably right. It's always kind of a "the cats out of the bag" situation with these kind of shows where it makes it harder to do more than one season.
shareI don't think these are "real people" playing into his bits though. Candid camera type shows are a bit more boring. The reactions of most of these people are too good for un-staged television.
shareNathan has confirmed in interviews that it is real people. Even without that, their reactions seem too genuine to be acted out. I don't believe he'd have a real problem making a second season though, because unfortunately, a lot of people have no idea that this show exists.

A lot of these reactions might be legit, but it can't be 100% no matter what Nathan says.
A more realistic show might be that terrible Ben Show that comes on right before Nathan's where the reactions seem legit and far more awkward, then again Ben isn't funny or subtle like Nathan.
I can attest that all but one of the segments in all of season 1 are completely legit. One segment (I won't say which) the person found out before shooting that it was a comedy central show, but the person was on screen for less than five seconds anyways.
shareI think most of these bits are scripted. And no matter how many seasons this run for, Nathan is not going to get the recognition of Ali G or Tom Green. He has a very small audience on Comedy Central and does very understated bits.
shareI disagree. His patsies are all small mom and pop types, most of whom won't know or care who he is. Most of the baby boomers I know have never heard of Daniel Tosh never mind Nathan Fielder.
He isn't as mean spirited as ali g and isn't retarded or annoying as greene.

shareHopefully he will get his 6 months in jail. He obviously doesn't understand health codes. Anything prepared for consumption by the public, sold or given away at a supposed place of business, must meet all local health code regulations. I would love to see this jerk go to jail and then be deported back to Canada. Makes me sad to be half Canadian

I think he can go another couple seasons in this sweet spot where some people really love his show and keep it making money but he's not so popular people recognize him. Ali G was more obviously a fake personality and Tom Green became a household name pretty fast. I think he can keep this up. Might have to use a fake name after next season but I don't see his face being easily recognizable like Tom Green to people.
