Looking at her photos online, she seemed to be very attractive in her mid teens but then tried to keep her looks by staying skinny, resulting in lollipop head!
Perhaps cast well before shooting.

and? it's all down to opinion. Obviously no film maker ever has picked the beauty of their movie to try to make every single viewer watching agree with their choice because that's just not realistic.
In the movie the characters obviously think she's hot so that's what matters most.
That's what makes her character.
