Let's stop acting like the original was some untouchable classic.

Seriously, it was good, but by no means is it some kind of untouchable classic that belongs in the pantheon of all-time great movies.

So just get over the fact that they made a sequel to it.

It was a 90s kids movie, so young people in their late 20s have a nostalgic attachment to it...

Just like other generations have a nostalgic attachment to StarWars movies and Star Trek shows... And undoubtably people have already developed an attachment to The Dark Knight series of movies, which were comicbook movies for young teens...

The only difference is that most people in the 90s recognised Jumanji for the kids movie it is, whereas people latched on way too much importance onto StarWarsTrek and Nolan's batmans... But the nostalgia is the same as is the internet outrage at the remakes and sequels... With the batman ones it has already happened clearly with grown men crying over Afleck's batman...

It's just a symptom of the infantilisation of the culture over the past decades from the late 70s onwards...

The original had far more "heart" than this film. I didn't hate this film though, just average seemed to be very empty film.
