Dear 90s kids, blame yourselves for the remakes.

You 90s kids were the first people to hold onto your childhood way longer than normal. You facebook people from high school and college you have no business being in contact with at your age. 90s kids were the ones who ushered in an era of the "adult" video "gamer". Thanks to easy access music and tv, you guys are still watching television shows and listening to music that you've got no business listening to. I can't tell you the number of time I've talked to women in my gym in their 30s who tell me they only listen to trap music when they workout.

If you guys want to keep your childhood alive or just never want to grow up, then fine. but don't blame the studios for remaking movies when you 90s kids are running up the hit counts on your long-over-due-to-be-forgotten-for-good 90s tv shows, music, and movies.

having said that, who wouldn't be psyched for a remake of kung fu the legend continues? if there's one thing that needs rebooting, it's the kung fu genre.

What's missing in movies is same as in society: a good sense of work ethic and living up to ideals.

Happys Days was so successful because people from the 70s wanted to hold on the 50s. Nostalgia is nothing new. You could not possibly be more wrong.

The 90's was when the reboot phenomena kicked into overdrive. Brady Bunch, The Little Rascals, 101 Dalmatians, Parent Trap, Dennis the Menace etc.

As a 90s kid I remember that decade being all about remembering the 60s and 70s. Flare trousers and disco made a comeback, and many films (Austin Powers, Mars Attacks, Spice World) had a 60s or 70s vibe about them.

My, how pretentious. People have "no business" keeping in touch with people from High School and College? Sonny, I'm not a nineties kid. I was a kid when Kennedy was assassinated. I keep in touch with High School and College friends. My parents were born in the 20's. They kept in touch as well.

I watch movies from the 20's to today. I don't care when a movie was made. If I like it, I'll watch it again. If I ddin't, I won't.

Movies have been remade since films first came into existence. Its nothing new. Remakes can be good or bad. They should be judged on their own merits; though I do think its risky to remake a film when the original was, and is, well thought of.

I don't know you're age, but you sound like the typical youngsters who try to assert their adulthood by disparaging their youth. Generally a hallmark of the young is this tendency to disparage youth. Mature people can generally enjoy both youth and adult oriented material.

How, precisely, am I a philistine? Do you understand the meaning of the word? I'm well educated enough to have a reasonable vocabulary. That doesn't make be better or worse than any other person. The OP seems to think that 90s kids are somehow different or more infantile than other generations. That may be open to debate. However, his examples are ridiculous. He seems to think that previous generations cut off connections to their youth when they became "adults." My contention is that he is in error. I am of those previous generations. His argument is in error.

I am well educated. I am NOT more educated than many. I don't believe intellect or education is a indicator of a person's worth.

From the trailer I saw, the only thing this movie remaking is just the title. A re-take or re-interpretation of the concept if you will, but not a remake at all.

Indeed it does. The OP claims that 90s kids are keeping up with people (that is fellow high school or college students) they "have no business" keeping up with. So Myy2free2's comment is directly on the OP's point (bizarre and nonsensical as the OP's point is)

All this arguing about different things is making everyone forget the real issue here. We should all be outraged by Karen Gillian's outfit for some reason. I saw news articles that said so.
