The ending???

Everyone seems to think the whole time she was transforming into a zombie. Until reading some reviews I thought BJ was an incubus and Sam was actually transforming into a Succubus. Surely that would've made more sense?

Seemed pretty clear that she was supposed to be a zombie. Maggots in her vag an all.

Was a really lame road to take it down IMO, I don't know about everyone else but the zombie stuff needs to stop already. It's just boring.

look up myiasis, and the movie will make sense. you guys totally missed the point in the movie. i will say the movie wasn't great and a lot of it seemed like a "come on really????" moment. But this explains the "zombie" state that she displays, which in all reality is her losing her mind from the parasitic infection.

***SPOILER***

One thing I was thinking: What if Samantha was actually dead the whole time (or part of the time), and then died a second time at the very end - finally completely her transformation into a zombie?

There is precedent in the zombie movie genre for this sort of thing: "The Return of the Living Dead" (1985). In that movie, Frank and Freddy, after unleashing the 2-4-5 Trioxin gas, die after exposure to it. They wake up a few hours later, not knowing that they're dead yet, but gradually become zombies over the course of the night (Freddy apparently "dies" again only to come to a few seconds later as an actual zombie).

The same could possibly hold true for Samantha: She could have died immediately after having sex with BJ from the infection or he could have killed her himself, and when she wakes up the next morning she's dead and is already transforming into a zombie. (The blood-vomiting she experiences is potentially an indicator of organ failure, and let's not forget the maggots in her private parts.) And so at the very end of the movie, she actually "dies" again, and when she comes to she's now a full-on zombie.

That's just my take on it...

I pretty much assumed that from the begining!

For the body to decompose like that, it must be dead, all the blood going out from her vagina and the rotten looks, plus the lot of bugs inside her and outside, just on day 1 are a dead giveaway that she is indeed already dead.

I think her body started to decompose because she was practically dead from the start but his brain was the last part to sucumb and when it does, she loose her consciousness, that would explain why she quickly becomes crazy in the last moments and starts killing everyone and crying about it, her brain was the last part to get infected but she was already dead.

I assume that was the idea behind the whole "sexual dissease" stuff, a more logical way to explain the infection, it will spread upwards, from her vagina to her organs and up to her brain, when the brain gets infected she is a full-on zombie.

This movie puts the "suck" back in Succubus. That's for sure!
