Watched the preview/intro and left wondering. The man's burying the dead and it cuts to the bells, 🔔 so did his wife have a funeral or they have any other service?

His wife dies in the opening, then they do all sort of confusing time-jumps and stuff

Did they have a funeral or service? It doesn't matter to the story. Just pay attention and watch.
