I would have prefered Reese Witherspoon.
Pike is good, but evil from the word go. There's no arc there.

Pike was cast for her ‘unknowable’ quality. Witherspoon is too in-your-face, annoying and not that attractive.
I still think Witherspoon would have been more interesting. It's like people who wanted Pike or Kidman for the "Verity" movie, even though they could play that role in their sleep. I'm glad Anne Hathaway was cast.
shareWitherspoon’s been around for ages, Pike was far less well known which, combined with her ‘unknowable’ quality, made Amy more mysterious. It was a case of perfect casting.
