Some similarities I'm looking for:

-Great movie twists
-VERY deep story with complicated characters
-Keeps you guessing and wondering what really happened or what's really going to happen

Side Effects: a really nasty little thriller. Similar to this one actually: full of twists, gets a little ludicrous at the end but still a lot of fun. And Rooney Mara owns in it.
