Whats up with Dreamworks?(Not Trolling)

They all make same movies with different protagonists. Please do not troll by saying I am Pixar fanboy or something because I am not..(But i prefer Pixar over Dreamworks anyday).

Well the issue is :
Main guy is shown really stupid whenever the movie starts, everybody hates him, but at the end he is the lifesaver and everybody loves him. Almost all their movies are same. No doubt they are great entertainment for kids as well as for grown ups. But after viewing the trailer for this one, I am pretty much pissed off. It will again have same story as how to train your dragon 2, except we will have Po's father rather than having his mother come out of nowhere.

Well, the Dragon movies are based on a book series, so their hands are tied there. Dunno about the rest...

Have you ever read the books? The how to train your dragon books are completely different to the films. So their hands aren't tied.

Actually the protagonist in How to Train Your Dragon is not stupid. He uses his intellect to defeat the villain over just brute strength, unlike his father. So I really don't see the similarities.

Kung Fu Panda resembles the Dragonball series more than HTTYD. There are a lot of similarities between Goku and Po.

Except Kung Fu Panda has a good story and Dragon Ball doesn't.

Dragon Ball has a great story and is one of the most successful and popular anime's of all time. You're either trolling or don't appreciate good anime.

Dragonball: Evolution, the live action movie definitely did not have a great story. :(

You also just described several pixar movies (toy story, cars, monsters inc, etc) so...

Um, no.

In Toy Story, Woody was the main protagonist and in the beginning everybody loved him, and he was smart, and by the end everybody loved him again.

In Cars, Lightning McQueen was the main protagonist and in the beginning almost everybody loved him, and by the end everybody loved him, and he wasn't stupid, per se, he was just really self centered, there's a difference.

In Monsters, Inc., Sully was the main protagonist, everybody loved him, and he wasn't stupid.

Same old same old works. When it doesn't they beat a new story to death and so on and so on. Why cry foul? Stop watching their movies until a new story line that you like comes out???????

Eh, not entirely. Kung fu panda 2 wasn't like that or httyd 2, or Bee movie... Or a lot of their movies.

All animation companies have cliches.

Disney has the independent princess with dead parents\mother

Pixar has the good guy that turns out to be a bad guy. (More than half of their films have this trope)

Laika has a final boss battle.

DreamWorks has the outcast turn into hero.
