Saw an advance screening this weekend. Ask me anything.

I was lucky enough to catch a super advance screening! It was mentioned that they are still working on it, so some of the scenes might be added/removed.

I thought it was better than KFP2. The animation was fantastic, especially the Spirit Realm (you'll know when you see it). Story was simple, kinda was hoping to see some more development. Runtime was quite low, around 1 hr 20 mins or so. It was entertaining though. I would give it 7.5/10

How was the villain defeated?

Spoilers ahead, you have been warned!

Po realizes that the only way to defeat Kai (who has come from the Spirit Realm) is to "die" (i.e. go to the Spirit Realm) and try to defeat him there since all his attempts to defeat Kai in the real world fail (Kai is basically invincible). Po wraps himself around Kai and then kills himself by using the Wuxi Finger Hold. Once in the Spirit Realm, Kai proves overwhelming but the chi (energy) of all the Pandas in the Panda village help Po defeat Kai. He is able to return to the real world.

Is Kai a scary and threatening villain? Is he more threatening than Syndrome from The Incredibles?

I don't recall much about The Incredibles but I thought Kai wasn't as menacing as powerful he was depicted. He was definitely powerful than the previous villains in KFP 1 & 2 but they could have made him more menacing. In fact, they added a kind of humor around his power.

Does Oogway (the tortoise, from the first film) assist Po to fight Kai - Seen Oogway in previews.

I heard Oogway (from a book preview) is turned into a jade necklace after Kai captures his chi to escape the Spirit Realm.

Dose Po realize it's Oogway and snags the amulet and smashes it to release him?

Orcas are the best.

Not really, which was kind of disappointing but she is shown to help and support Po for fighting against Kai.

What happens with Mei Mei?

Considering everyone gets worked up about details, adding spoiler tags:

Mei Mei is just shown as a panda with great dancing with ribbons skills. Her character didn't have much of a part to play, she fights off a few bad guys, that's about it.

So wait, how is the arrange marriage resolved? How did po and mei mei ever get engaged? How did po find out about it and feel about it? How did po and mei mei interact with one another? and how did po and tigress help mei mei?

I honestly wasn't aware that Mei Mei and Po were engaged. There was no hint whatsoever in the movie (but as I said scenes can be added/deleted later, so not sure). Mei Mei is just shown as a dancer who is skillful with ribbons. She teaches Po a few dance moves but that was about it. Po and Tigress help the entire panda village. Mei Mei just fends off a few bad guys.

Kai steals the chi (energy) of the furious five and Master Shifu, except Tigress, who manages to escape. By stealing the chi, they are converted into green amulets that Kai wears along his neck.

Yes, after Po defeats Kai, they return back to normal (along with various others whose chi had been stolen by Kai)

How does the movie open up? Also, does Po have a hard time defeating Kai? Does Shifu fight Kai? If so, what is the fight like? Is there gonna be a fourth movie? Is Kai more threatening than Tai Lung?

In my opinion, it sounds worse than the first two and could be the weakest of the series so far.

If it's 1hr 20 mins, I assume they crammed numerous events under a several minutes though it's the unfinished cut and some scenes will be added later.

Does po's mother have a name? Is bao pronounced like po and whats his relationship like with po? How does tigress interact with the other pandas? Also what does mr ping do throughout the movie? Does li shan meet the five and shifu? what does he think of them?

Oogway plays a part in movie shown in previews, can you tell all about Oogway's role?

One big question for me is how does the movie end for Oogway, happy, too; plus is it explained how Oogway gets his new staff, in

the new preview he passes it to Po to use, does Po keep the staff or does he return it to Oogway?

I hope so, I'm a Oogway fan.
