Who else would have preferred a college setting?

I personally have never particularly cared for superhero stories set in high school. High school settings in general just don't interest me. I'm not interested in seeing Peter trying to get to class on time so he doesn't get detention, or trying to find a date to the prom.

High school may have been where Peter Parker started off as a crime fighter, but his most memorable stories took place after that. He didn't even meet two of his most prominent love interests (Gwen and MJ) until he had already been in college. I get that they want to emphasize that Spider-Man is basically a kid compared to the other superheroes in this universe, but they could have conveyed that perfectly fine with a college setting.

I get that they're eventually going to have him grow out of his high school life by the end of Phase 3, but why do we need an entire movie involving his life as a high school sophomore or whatever? It's not like Tom Holland is too young to play a college student.

It just seems like they've really been pushing the high school aspect of Spider-Man's life on us ever since the Ultimate comics.

I'm still interested in seeing this movie, but having him be in high school again just seems like a waste to me.

I would by far prefer the college setting (that's where most of Peter's best stories and villains occurred and make the most sense during and we've already seen him super-young on film twice, albeit fairly briefly). If they did that they might as well keep Garfield in the role (I didn't like him but he was OK for a younger and modernish version).

A high school setting is good, but so is a college setting. I don't really care either way.

There's simply more longevity by starting from the start. If they're gonna crank out Spidey sequels every few years they may as well get as much out of him as they can.

I would prefer a college setting, but I see why they did this.
