A tough charismatic rich criminal boss of an ''organization'' or group

always arguing with his wife having on and off / good and bad relation

being good to his son and daughter but also sometimes not doing the right thing at all

with a large extended family always arguing together

All these modern mature dramas of the last twenty years follow the Sopranos mold in one form or another. Despicable lead character struggling to balance his criminal life with his family life. You can trace the roots of all those shows back to Sopranos.

Ray Donovan is more likable than Tony Soprano.
