It will be to its strong fanbase - as the aforementioned movie is.

In general will it get that much more praise in the future? Seems unlikely but it's a possibility.

I think it will find an audience down the road, but much like Dune, it's always going to have a "what could have been" sort of attitude surrounding it.

It will be admired for its strengths for sure (and be a great demo film for home theater systems if it gets a 4k/Atmos release) and may even be subject to fan edits, but even a tighter edit won't fix the problems with the casting.
