Not happy only renewed for a final 5th Season

I'm very happy it got renewed for a fifth season. I'm not sure the creators/executive producers intended for only five because on After Black, it seemed liked they would have loved to have at least done 7 or 8. I think this is probably the most brilliant cable network shows, along with Mr. Robot, that each week you are so excited to see how out of the box story telling and character development they can push. The writers and actors are amazing. Tatiana is a freaking enigma, rock star! If they only do one more season I hope they get to do an Orphan Black Series. I think if the show was on HBO, Showtime, STARZ, Cinemax, USA, AMC, Netflix or
Hulu it would have gotten more seasons. I've watched TWD from the first episdode till that season's finale. The first 2 or 3 seasons were great but I kinda hate watch it now. Orphan Black has never disappointed me every season and I long for it when I have to wait for the next one. Because of on having 10-12 episodes a season it flies by so fast, making me want more. To make room for new shows when this one is already one of the best ones BBC America has ever Co-Produced/Distributed is really lame. I don't want the writers to have to rush lame tie ups to end the story and end up neglecting important details to this epic story! Again, I have nothing against a show leaving while it's on top but this show is like a growing and spawning organism in itself, creating many intriguing worlds and characters, not just the clones (even thought I love all of the sestras)!!

Funny you should mention Mr. Robot, because that's a perfect example of a show that shouldn't go too long. It would be ruined by making up filler to keep it going.

When I heard that we were only going to get one more season of OB, I wasn't surprised in the least bit.

Keep in mind, I'm not one of those posters that wanders in here every once and awhile and complains about the show losing purpose or good direction. I think they've done a good job keeping it interesting.

But it seems to me that the show has run its course and should be able to wrap up by at least curing the clone club and then resolve the conflicts they've created throughout the show.

It's interesting to think about how it might end. My hopes would be that we see the clone club go on to live happy-ever-after lives, but fade away with big question marks about humanity's future post-neolution.

Be sure to proof your posts to see if you any words out

Hate to be another vote of dissent but this show definitely needs to wrap up ASAP. It's been a mess since s2. S2 and 4 were all over the place and the number storylines that have been dropped are too many to name. The show should have had a clear purpose in mind. Most of the friends I started it with quit before s3.
It can't sustain itself with this aimless quality of writing.

A rose is just a rose.

A lot of good shows stop around the season 5 mark. I think it is completely appropriate and would hate for it to turn into another Supernatural

Better 5 good seasons rather than 5 good seasons and 5 bad ones. A half-rotten apple is just a rotten apple.

I like OB, but I think it's wise that they cut it off while it's on a high. No sense dragging it out. This season was amazing and they did a great job in making the conflict between two scientific parties instead of the one with the religious cult. That was just dumb and asking for trouble.

I agree. This kind of conflict feels more believable to me.

The creators have been saying they had planned five seasons only for the show since before season 3 even started, so we've know that the fifth season would be the last for awhile now.

I'm wary of shows overstaying their welcome, and I know that working on the show is a tremendous drain on Tatiana, so I can understand wanting to end it at a fifth season. However, my wife and I agree that the showrunners have introduced so many new plot threads in season four that it seems unlikely that they can satisfactorily resolve most of them in a single ten-episode season. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for more comics or a novel that can take care of the loose ends.
