Why are there no intelligent movies these days ...

most movies that come out seem to be aimed at kids under high-school age, and the whole movie industry just insults anyone with a brain?

I reccently watched US and found that to be pretty subversive. Aquaman, Halloween and Vice were all really good too.

There’s always good stuff out there imo. Hundreds of movies get released every year of course there’s gonna be a few good ones in there.

You watch The walking dead. It hardly takes a brain to watch that. Most movies today are indeed movies that do not take much brains. But so what??? There are plenty of intellectual product out there. Mostly hight quality tv series. I mix it up. I have always been a scifi fan but I also love a good drama. I think the fact that most films today are comic book movies or scifi/fant in general doesn't mean that people want to stay adolescent. I find the Mission Impossible films the most intelligent of the current crop of movies. Yeah they are over the top action but they are much smarter than say the Fast and Furious films.
