At the end of the movie that scared her so much? Was it the red demon from the first movie?

I doubt it. Something worse than we've seen it implied. Definitely not a ghost. We won't know in part 3 either. Maybe they're saving it for the finale of the series.

if it isnt the red demon from the first film then, it is probably his master or something affiliated with him that is possessing the girl.

She saw Leigh Whannel and James Wan with a script for Insidious Chapter 3 in their hands. I've had nightmares of the same image since I saw Chapter 2.
