Cannot believe there was no outcry for a boycott from the Trans communit

shareMaybe they like this movie because it shows a boy who was damaged by a mother forcing him to be something he is not.
shareHe's not truly transgender, though. His mom forced him to be a girl when he didn't want to. When he's older and choosing to be a woman (and taking it as far as trying to castrate himself), I think his mom just messed up his sense of identity, plus he's desperate to please her. So it's different than someone who feels like they have always been the opposite gender mentally. I would consider him a brainwashed crossdresser. That whole thing did feel kind of random and unnecessary, but maybe they'll use a future movie to explain his life more, and make the crossdressing more relevant to the rest of the story.
shareThis sounds a lot like the Buffalo Bill character from The Silence of The Lambs. Except for the crazed mother part. I think there was some kind of outcry from the transgendered community back then, and the director gave a similar response to yours. I don't remember hearing much more about it, so I assume they found his explanation valid. It seemed reasonable to me then, and still does.
shareTransgender community still (wrongfully) complain about Buffalo Bill.

I think the movie was too scary for any of the social justice people to care.
Sometimes there are offensive things in Metal music or hip hop videos or horror movies but you never hear anythin gabout it
that's just because I think they dont like watching scary things (trigger warnings and all that)
this :)
shareThe only outcry is from you.
shareI can't believe there wasn't an outcry from the straight community when... I'm in the LBGT community and I find your comment silly. Psychological damage doesn't discriminate. Anyone capable of cognitive sentience could potentially become a serial killer. C'mon :P
shareThere was no transgenderism in this movie. There was a stupid mother trying to force her son into a girl, something he clearly did not want. This is not transgenderism, this is just child abuse.
so your entire post is nonsense.

I knew there would be a post like this on the boards when I watched the movie. As others have said, I think one could actually look at the movie as PRO-transgender. A young boy was forced against his will to identify as something he wasn't which is something many transgender people have to face every single day. Having to go against who he knew he truly was really harmed him psychologically and caused him to become murderous. I think the movie promotes the idea that you need to be who you really are or else you cannot lead a healthy, normal life.
