Watching the scene when the draft actually started we see football fans all dressed up and cheering on the pick as if they were watching a game. Do people really get that excited for it that much?

shareSome people do, absolutely. If anything some aspects of the movie are understated. A #1 draft pick is the short term future for whatever team has the pick. The same can probably be said for the top 5 or 10 picks, depending on the year. Teams often sell tickets and broadcast the draft at their own stadiums in which people do get dressed up the way they do for games.
