This is such a stupid show . You can tell everyone's acting.

It's incredibly, ignorantly fake. That big bald idiot who stars on the show would be in prison for assault, unlawful entry and unlawful detention each time he "searches" someone for weapons or throws them to the ground for raising their voice or throws cuffs on them. He keeps saying he has permission from the landlord and 24 hour notice to enter the persons apartment or rental house but when the "tenant" says no they legally still cannot enter.

I hope you never lease, as you might be in for a rude awakening. Every lease I ever had contained a 24 hour show notice, and said that the unit can and would be entered by force if needed. A rental is NOT your property. If the owner suspects you are violating the lease, doing something illegal, or is trying to evict you then they can come in. If you try to forcefully stop them then you are likely the one going to jail. While this show is cheezy and staged, I've never seen an instance where the crew made a move first. In every case the tenant or someone in the unit started the altercation. And in CA you can place someone under citizens arrest if they are in the process of committing a felony.

reply

You have no idea what you're talking about, management can only enter your unit to make repairs or in the event of an emergency. If you signed a lease where it stated management can enter by force, you're the idiot.

reply

No genius, that is not the case. Under normal conditions they cannot just come in, but if they posted a 24 notice then yes they can. It is not your property, the owners have the right to access it under certain circumstances. In almost all of these cases, the tenant is in violation of the lease, which quickly turns them in to squatters.

reply

It wont say "by force" but it will say they can enter after 24 hour notice, which is pretty bs is my eyes since who's to say they'd see a note on the door within that time. One time I got notice, and they tried to bust in earlier than they said they would while I was naked. I was furious.

I will never rent again. You have very little rights when it comes to privacy, and even when you do, half the time they don't care. My friend didn't get notice when the apartment building was supposed to be painted, just a general notice saying they will do it sometime this week or next week, and she woke up to a man staring at her naked body through her clerestory window. Like she was supposed to buy curtains for that window to prep for that? No knock on her door that morning or anything. If they just knocked, she could have been dressed for that.

And HOAs can be just as bad. Woke up to someone outside my bathroom window cleaning my gutters. No notice at all. What if I was in the shower, with the window open as always? Perverts. You have to assume they know what they are doing and are happy to catch a glimpse. Why else would they not notify the people inside?

Type A jerk.

You know its fake when wanna be actors put themselves on the IMDB page as "drunk girl" :-D

I kinda could tell it was reenactments (if they are in fact based on anything with the slightest sliver of truth) halfway through the first time I saw this goofy-ass show.

reply

Sorry to admit I watched an opisode!
But now that I have confessed...have to say I found it amazing that when they entered a house and "found" an armed man who grabbed their keys and ran, the guy ran DIRECTLY to their car and sped away!
Amazing he could have gone in any direction, but I guess this was had a sixth sense!

The episode where they walk into the house and there is a horse just standing there in the next room made me laugh so hard. Yeah, I bet a tenant would let them come in knowing that she had a horse in the house. Hard to believe these are even based off of true stories.

reply

Unabashedly fake!

reply

In addition to being "reenactments" they take a lot of liberty with landlord and tenant law. They try to make it seem like the landlords can enter apartments whenever they want to and they cannot. In most states, people who conduct themselves like they do on this show would be put in jail. It's all fake.

reply

as far as reenactments go, i think the actors do a pretty good job. considering the tenants are all amateurs just picking up a single day's paycheck, most of them are pretty convincing in their performance. and the 2 main guys look genuinely shocked whenever they go to someone's residence and find something out of sorts, and their dialogue between each other and the tenants looks very natural. really the only thing that i find kind of unbelievable, and only thing that makes me think these are reenactments about the show is the fact that almost all the tenants let the guys in when they have something to hide inside. and that the guys always find some kind of illegal activities while they're happening.

i don't understand what everyone's problem is with the bald guy. what did he do? how is he a jerk? he's always nice until he finds the tenants doing something they shouldn't or are resisting him from doing his job. he only 'attacks' someone when they have attacked him first.

reply

Watched 10 minutes of it. If you can't tell it's acting, you might as well believe anything and everything you see on television. The acting makes B movies look Oscar worthy.

reply

They are reenactments of real situations. Hence some of the actors listing themselves in the credits here on imdb. So if it feels staged - it is.

Remember a lot of the theme and tone you see in reality TV varies greatly on how it is edited.

I used to love this show until I found out it was fake. I was very disappointed. How can it be considered "reality tv" when it is not even real. It is only based on certain investigations. I am very annoyed.
