Similar movies... right !

Of the 12 movies that are supposed to be similar to Transcendence, only one fits the bill: "Lucy". All the rest are just movies with Johnny Depp... hell they even put his cologne commercial in there!

It's the same crap with "More Like This" on IMDB. I can't believe they can't have better algorithms in 2020.

So anyways... other than "Lucy", what movies (or series) do you know of that shows what the next step of human evolution could be like? Comic book movies don't count!

2001 springs to mind, although it is vastly different. It does, however, concern itself with human evolution and leaps forward.

The Fountain and Cloud Atlas have more of a reincarnation bent to them, but they are about accessing dimensions to human experience that we normally ignore.

Maybe Limitless? I haven't seen it, but I think it's the same thing: take a pill, access the furthest reaches of the human mind, get superpowers, fight cartels.

Yes, I also thought about 2001: A Space Odyssey although it's quite different. You are also very right about Limitless! I forgot about that one (which is weird since I really liked it). I haven't seen The Fountain or Cloud Atlas, though. Thank you for the suggestions!

Fountain and Cloud Atlas aren't *exactly* the same, but they might have some of that cerebral boundary-pushing you're looking for.

It's the same crap with More Like This on IMDb because it is pulled straight from IMDb.

About next step of human evolution... hmmm probably A.I., Ex Machina, or even Interstellar.

A.I. , good suggestion. I still have to see that. I always thought it looked like a 2000's version of D.A.R.Y.L.. But I admit I didn't even think about it. I should give it a try. Thanks !

"Her" is a far more similar movie than others.

"Simone" has also a similar theme.

The best movie along this plotline to me is the rarely mentioned "Colossus: The Forbin Project".
