Things I learned from Transcendance

1) Apparently, self-awareness is very difficult to prove.

2) You can build an advanced high-tech datacenter to specificallty control the internet and networks in order to change the world, no problem, the government doesn't care.

3) Mind uploading is probably faster than uploading all the seasons of The Simpsons with a DSL connection.

4) It's cool to have an AI because it's the most intelligent thing on earth, but when you surprisingly learn that it can measure your heart rate and knows about your body heat, it freaks you out.

5) Even as an AI connected to the internet, you preffer to struglle and use an old vynil turntable rather than iTunes.

38) Underrated Movie.

39) The chemical element, copper, will be solely blamed should a sequel to this movie arise.

No. 5: the sound from the old vinyl turntable is way better than iTunes.

27b-6). It's really easy for terrorists living in a desert to get nuclear bullets.

27c). It's really easy for terrorists to bring guns into a lecture hall.

27d). Terrorists can't shoot straight at point blank range.

27e). World governments don't care about AI taking over the planet, only a small band of terrorists, 1 FBI agent, and 2 guys from Blackwater do.

27f). Omnipotent AIs have no interest in making backup copies of themselves in case of attack.

27g). Howitzers are way cooler than airstrikes.

28a). Keyboards make excellent doorstops.

maybe cos our mother of all deus ex machinas, the Nanobots (tm) have invaded every tech system? lol.

51. it's easier to assassinate a scientist by using irradiated bullets rather than simply aiming better.

52. if you reject Kate Mara's attempt to seduce you, better watch out when you're in the parking lot.

53. 2 scientists can muster the equipment necessary to transfer human consciousness to an AI without raising any attention.

54. a vital part of consciousness-uploading is the reading out loud of various dictionary words.

55. Nanobots are visible when it looks cool to do so. otherwise, they simply travel everywhere through mysterious ways.

56. when attacking an underground desert facility, be sure to tunnel in and then pop up above ground.

57. we need a remake of this movie by some Anime director.

They were uploading his voice. This is the same technique they use to create personalized voices for people with disabilities. They need to cover all/most of the sound combinations in the english language.

And I thought that was for mind recoding so even the little unimportant details won't be forgotten. Like when you read a word you automatically connect/think about it. Some thoughts comes up, maybe even an entire story. And all this is a pattern that makes you unique too. Not only the obvious memories that we can recall when we want.

Don't take hair tips from Kate Mara.

The world's most powerful computer can create perfect nanotechnology, and one programmer can instantly undo it via a quickie virus without any testing AND shut down the internet at the same time.

Data centers can be uploaded instantly to satellites with one network cable connection. Click. Done. Too late to stop it now.

The FBI won't do anything to computer hackers if they feel that the hackers are 'helping'.

63. Even the most powerful AI ever created cant be bothered updating his anti-virus software

64. Kate Mara is a hottie no matter what bad hair decisions she makes

65. If you are capable of building nanobots that can create pretty much anything you could ever need wherever you want it then it's more fun to use them to enslave a small town of pesky humans to carry the parts around for you than it is to just build the equipment where you want it
