1) Apparently, self-awareness is very difficult to prove.

2) You can build an advanced high-tech datacenter to specificallty control the internet and networks in order to change the world, no problem, the government doesn't care.

3) Mind uploading is probably faster than uploading all the seasons of The Simpsons with a DSL connection.

4) It's cool to have an AI because it's the most intelligent thing on earth, but when you surprisingly learn that it can measure your heart rate and knows about your body heat, it freaks you out.

5) Even as an AI connected to the internet, you preffer to struglle and use an old vynil turntable rather than iTunes.

6) A massive data center with thousands of energy pannels only has the energy to either save one person (eventho it was healing dozens at the same time before) or upload a virus.

7) When a terrorist cell and fbi/military invade something they let the 2 IT scientists do all the shooting

8) Said scientists also make all calls

9) The fbi can find the terrorist cell only and immediatly if they need them to team up.

10) The government will attack a facility after no apparent provocation or threat.
11) An advanced human derived AI is clever enough to design and build nanobots that can cure everything, yet too naive to think that controlling people like puppets and revealing that to an FBI agent would be regarded as any possible threat.
12) The said AI will point that out to the government, instead of presenting how it can cure and reconstruct the entire planet.
13) The lead scientist who also has the provisional role of head of the FBI and army combined, will not hesitate to sacrifice the damsel in distress of the film who carries the virus that can shut down everything; preferring instead a full scale attack while it has been previously pointed out that any physical attack is ineffective.

No. 15: It was high frequency trading, by the most powerful computer on the planet. Not illegal.

iirc, its legality is being challenged in some countries, primarily from the viewpoint of unpredictability and lack of regulation (yes, rather European scepticism).

even if it wasn't illegal, it should make the news... the US HFT industry made $1.25bn in profits for 2012, which translates to something like $24mil avg a week. $32mil profit by one trader overnight would be amazing, though not impossible.

what's more impossible is how they managed to seemingly build an entire high-tech "clean room" facility 5 stories underground in the middle of a desert practically overnight as well, all without publicity. apparently rednecks in a rundown town would gladly sever all other connections to serve their new mysterious millionaire employer no questions asked.

23) You can turn people into hive-minded cyborgs to build you a solar power plant and that's OK, but when you probe your wife's hormone levels you cross a line and then even your wife starts to think you should be shut down.

24) If a director thinks "hey it's 2014 why not make a Matrix 2.0 ?", he is more likely to just come up with a Matrix 2 (in terms of rating anyway).

25) If you are a scientist and you are searching for a technology that can not only heal people but also cure all diseases and regenerate people and the planet, let's get real you will probably never find it despite working on it all your life. Yet if your husband is dying you will find it in less than 1 month.

26) If you have Morgan Freeman and Cillian Murphy auditionning for the same role, hire them both and create a second character for this one role. You just have to find a different name and a job for the second character. After that you can make them do exact same things on screen, people will still think they are so different one from another.

27) Kate Mara is very pretty...unless she wears a blond wig.

28) Johnny Depp is 51 years old, but since his real life girlfriend is 28, it's okay to cast a 32 years old actress to play the wife of his character on screen. Obviously, viewers won't notice or bother the 20 years gap on screen since it allready exists in reality, and is even a little bigger.

29) You can make a virus that can wipe all the computers in the world and nobody objects and you don't need to think about any consequence and you don't need any authority to do besides one/two FBI field agents.
30) You are a super-super computer with hundreds/thousands of quantum processors, and all the available resources on the internet, and you already know that someone knowing your source code is trying to create a virus to attack you, you cannot come up with any defense for that.
31) Survival is the NO. 1 priority for any species, and the super intelligence does not care about the survival for himself or the one he loves.

32) When you create a gigantic datacenter, make sure not to forget to build some very long white corridors.
33) When you're kidnapped by a terrorist organization, no one will be looking for you because your family, your friends and the police know you'll eventually team up with your kidnappers.
34) When you're a terrorist, you know the best way not to be tracked or found by the FBI or by any video camera is to hide in the desert for years, far from technology, with no shampoo or anything. Because you know you'll be able to keep on being a terrorist. Because a teenager on his bike will always bring you the latest satellite video available (or any necessary video surveillance recordings).

36c. Because there isn't anything they need to read in such a topic. They just come to give their opinion about the topic as well as the original poster came to give out his opinion about the movie without much caring any other ideas/opinions.
