Writing is improved this season (6)
Sherlock acts and talks much more Sherlocky.
shareYes, this show has much of its groove back. I especially like how the cases they're working also have greater stakes, some of them potentially global in impact, rather than just typical murder schemes. JLM has much more gusto and is having more fun with his dialog. I like this ongoing storyline with this serial killer which quickly twisted away from the usual sort of fare and Moriarty is back. The show has also found a good balance of dealing with its moody themes of addiction and redemption instead of being mired in them.
shareYeah, but they added some people from the DNC to the writing team, or have you missed all of the "subtle" DNC talking points mentioned in the show this year?
shareOh they're subtle alright. I'm surprised they don't turn and talk directly into the camera. But that's pretty much all tv these days.
shareThe end of this last one was the worst attempt at a poignant pluck at the heart strings. They thought that Sherlock donating his inheritance in Joan's name to a gun buy-back program was going seem touching. They usually do well with their end-of-episode-emotional-moment. They really fouled the air this time.
Still, I love the show.
Just watched it. Ugh. This was one of the way better episodes. Classic Sherlock being "Supernatural is bullshit" story with good twists. And right at the end they introduce the propaganda, which is total BS. Gun buy back programs don't do shit.
shareIt's sad that they have to soil a good show with such crap.
