As a Chinese, I felt offended. Millions of Chinese were massacred and enslaved when Genghis Khan invaded and took over China as part of the Mongol Empire.
What will you guys feel if you saw a show that Hitler as the good guy?
Before throwing phrases around, first learn what they are about and when they should be used.
Godwin's Law: A term that originated on Usenet, Godwin's Law states that as an online argument grows longer and more heated, it becomes increasingly likely that somebody will bring up Adolf Hitler or the Nazis. When such an event occurs, the person guilty of invoking Godwin's Law has effectively forfeited the argument.
So it's ironically moronic when you affiliate Godwin's law with "OP". ๎
Looks to me like the OP just invoked Godwin's Law and immediately forfeited his argument. I feel that is to what the sir was referring. Why does it have to be "longer"?
You kill a man, you are a murderer. You kill millions, you are a hero.
People rooting for Mongolians have no idea what real history is like. Westerners, if questioned, will always say they hate genocides, hate Hitler, hate rapes. But they have no problem saying Genghis Khan was a great man, because they don't know better.
Nazis are like good men when compared to the Mongols. Nazis did not massacre in Minsk, they didn't do it in Kurst, they didn't do it in Leningrad. Mongols exterminated entire nations. Men, women, children, skulls displayed as giant skull pyramids.
It's all about logic. If you have good logic, you don't fall into traps like these. You don't condemn one, then admire or even worship another who committed far worse crimes. Lack of logic is the culprit. It is stupidity.
If you think the Nazis were that great, check what happened to the Russian civilians they evacuated during the battle of Stalingrad. Those who were able to work were transported away as work slaves, the rest was sent to concentration camps or executed immediately. Or the more than 5,000 villages destroyed by the SS in Belarus, their inhabitants murdered. Or the massacre in the Warshaw ghetto. Oh, and of course there are those 6 million people killed in concentration camps, who surely wouldn't support your argument.
I know You posted months ago and I may seem naive, but do Mongolians really hate Chinese people? I understand that there was a lot of war death, etc. between the 2 cultures long ago, but is their still a lot of disdain and hatred today?
It's not a true story. It's a fictional story inspired by true events. Besides, the Khan isn't exactly portrayed as a great guy. Some of it was manipulation, but he's power hungry.
No one cares, nor should care, that you feel offended. No, the Khans were not "good guys", obviously. They're not portrayed as "good guys" in the show, though. They are simply the protagonists, the center of the story.
if you feel bad about what happened 816 years ago you should visit a psychologist.
+816 no victims remember that past.
also he isn't protrayed as a "good" guy. he may be good as certain moments but he will kill anyone that annoys him without blinking.
Hitler happend until 1945 so a lot of people might still remember. but still fun movies are made about hitler.
a lot of movies and shows show people from 1200 to be good. even people from the roman empire are shown as good and noone is offended because it happened so fare in the past that it is just history.
