Not a bad movie by any means, but expected better considering some of the reviews. Great performances, but it just didn't amount to much at the end.

The film is a psychological drama about complicated family relationships, various personality disorders, mental illness, etc. The title "a real pain" takes on many different meanings throughout the experience.

I actually was not aware until credits started rolling that Jesse Eisenberg wrote and directed the movie himself. What an
incredible talent.

It’s better than average. It’s an excellent small film. I didn’t know it was going to be that good. It’s a different kind of a road trip. It did amount to much especially at the end. It broke my heart. The last two scenes - actually the very last shot.
