Well, at least one of his statements is close to be factual.
Objectively speaking, America is one of the greatest countries in the world, as far as socioeconomic and cultural freedoms/opportunities are concerned.
As far as the barbarian quote, what is the context?

shareI get that, and I’m not looking for rationale just the context in how it was said. For instance, one could say that Americans have acted barbarically in regards to our history concerning slavery, discrimination, and presently, how people are treated within our penal systems.
Did he say this after witnessing a woman raped and then murdered for dishonoring her family?
Did he say this after observing an instance of sectorial related violence/murder, perpetuated between people who conform to the Sunni and Shia belief systems.
Context may not excuse what we say but it can garner an empathic viewpoint at the very least.
I think he proclaimed it after he was to belt whip the neighbors hound at a family BBQ!

Not excusing what he said, by any means, it was a terribly awful thing to say, but it sounds like he was having a trauma induced episode of some sort, and was projecting internal strife.
I wish we invaded more countries! Iran, Norway & Russia for starters.
