Hugh Jackman as Joel after watching Prisoners..
So many Joel qualities in that movie, voice, temper, looks, behaviour etc etc.

shareDitto that fact. Watched it last week and immediately thought same thing. Even the clothes!
shareAgreed.
Are you out of your Vulcan mind?
holy crap, you're right, its scary
shareI totally agree therewillbecake he does have the look
shareLook at the poster for the movie Joe. That's who should play Joel.
Here is the poster

Nicholas Cage?
I don't think I could take the movie seriously if he were Joel.
You don't go to see Metallica and ask the f**-ers to turn the music down
So far, every suggestion on this board has been for an actor, seemingly just because they have a similar-looking beard. Hugh Jackman, Anson Mount, Dylan McDermott, Geard Butler, one even says 'Babel Brad Pitt'. Jesus, is the beard *that* important? They could have a well-known beardless actor just *grow* the beard, or, Christ forbid, have Joel not have any facial hair. Shouldn't the skill of the actor be the first factor?
shareI'm against a film adaptation really, but it's going to happen so I agree that I would much prefer talent over looks.

'Save me, Barry!'
I think Troy Baker would be the perfect choice to play Joel in the movie version
