Good job mel. I wish Hugo Weaving was atleast nominated.

I liked it, especially since it was more factually accurate than most of these types of based on true story movies.

My only issue was Garfield, I like him, but he was poorly cast here.

We disagree.

"Poorly cast?" Pretty questionable statement. The Oscar nomination says otherwise. But assuming you are a better judge of casting than than the motion picture academy, why would you call this poor casting? He looks the part, his emotion is genuine, and his portrayal was memorable.

I think this was his best role to date, far better than Peter Parker which he is known for.

He looks like Franz Kafka, aisde from being white, he doesn't look like Desmond Doss at all. I didn't know people still cared about the Oscars. I personally don't need a third party to tell me what to think. If you think the Oscars are free from corruption and politics; and represent the general public, good on you.

"Only good thing were the nice company of Australian actors"

No. Terrific story, good performances, uplifting message. Spectacular direction.
But I think you are correct about one thing: You are better suited to watching Lego Batman.

I've had a few weeks to ruminate on the movie now and I definitely didn't like it. I don't think it was a bad movie or anything. I'll be surprised if this stands the test of time time with the other great war films.
