It is my humble opinion that the "mockumentary" or "found footage" genre is one of the least inventive/lazy genres of film there is. If I have to list the ones that I thought weren't horrible/left an impression on me...I'd say... Cannibal Holocaust, Lake Mungo, Megan is Missing and REC. The first
PA was decent but just didn't scare/interest me at all during a second watch and it's sequels are just the same re-used, re-hashed scare tactics/formula. I really don't see the appeal to the sequels...but to each their own.
"Tell me what you don't like about yourself?"
its true that its not that inventive and there's a loooot of garbage
but lately, a good found footage movie is almost like the only kind of horror movie that kind actually really scare me
so i keep digging in the garbage for gems like "Megan is Missing", so great to see some loving for that little gem of a film
I don't think 10 decent found footage films have been made, but here are some I like a lot.

I don't give a Vorcha's ass about your security cameras.
Yeah, for me the genre doesn't have enough quality movies for a top ten. Here are the ones I recommend:
Chronicle
REC 1 and 2
The Tunnel Movie
I just looked up Megan is Missing and it sounds disturbing. What also bothers me is it sounds overly gratuitous for the subject matter.
Have you seen Cannibal Holocaust? I think the most interesting aspect of the film was it was created to show how brutal people are, and the fact that they actually got the cast to cut up living animals proved the point of the film. While no people were killed, they actually took the lives of animals while filming. Brutal stuff too. The turtle was nasty.
shareThis is exactly the reason why you've become de-sensitized to violence, and can no longer be trusted to review moderately scare Halloween films. You're jaded by your twisted mind, Ted Nama Bundy.
shareStill being a perpetual idiot I see. Notice, I'm not desensitized, you know, by not saying the violence was laughable, but I used brutal as a way to describe those scenes. If you weren't such an a55hole, you might be worth talking to. I actually agree with your comment about Cloverfield, but you don't come for discussion, you come here to just be an a55hole.
Maybe someone should explain to you how wonderful Cloverfield is, and that it's just mildly scary, and it's really a great film because it made lots of money.
What the hell are you doing on Paranormal Activity 4's board when you had a fit over 3?
And Cloverfield stunk.
If you like The Tunnel there's probably plenty of great found footage you haven't seen. I mean The Tunnel is excellent but it's not exactly one of the best films of the genre.
