What the hell happened with this movie???

The official story is that movie's release was pulled last minute. It Eventually, it would be sold cheap to Netflix.

The movie is actually a very decent pop-corn one. It's a medium budget production, but it makes every dollar shine. It looks like a big bugdet one. I wouldn't call it a masterpiece of action, the last third is meh, but the first half is extremely good. It's above the average level of modern movies, hands down. Why was it pulled? Why was it sold cheap to Netflix?

What's more: the director, Nic Matthieu, seems to have been completely blacklisted by Hollywood. He's vanished. That doesn't make any sense: a guy that can give that ratio quality/budget like the one in Spectral should have been hired to make more movies right away.

What the hell happened??

Who knows. NETFLIX may have gotten a real bargain???

Very good movie though. IMO.

I see it same way as the OP. Looked like a decent movie, they seemed to put quite some money in it, but the other half of the movie seem kind of lazy written. Also the main character wasn't acting much, nothing suprised him.
