First of all I really liked the movie. It was sweet and emotional love story with great leads and interesting premise.

What i did not like was last few minutes. I believe it was too dramatic and the drama was created from nothing. Running away from New Mexico, car chase, running away from mental institution. It would make sense if someone was about to kill the woman lead. That would justify the running away to save her. But he could wait for a few days and talk to his parole officer or something to get there.

But as I said it was a good movie inn my opinion.

I believe it was the PERFECT ending! They are young and in love (of course, it's going to be intense). I liked the car chase - it brought together everything he had been about up to that point (a true convict, good with cars, impulsive, etc.) My only fear was that when they were in the box-car the police would have shot him. I'm glad it turned out to be a feel-good movie. The last thing I wanted was an unhappy ending.
