what is your Only reason to watch this crap...?

i like Vanessa Hudgens, she is so beautiful she is the only reason to watch this movie... i know this movie is a crap but i have a reason. what's yours?

Honestly, James Franco was the only reason. I get the whole point of the movie being sensory and trying to give the feeling of being on spring break and sh*t getting real but I felt like it stretched on for way too long, and it was only 90 minutes. I didn't hate it though, it's not without some merit.

You've been trolled, this movie is a exceptionally made film, it's groundbreaking stuff. I love the fact that it's made back 3x what it cost because so many idiots went to see it just to see the HOTT GIRLS (like yourself), and then the entire film just flew right over their heads.

Hype. Big mistake.

While I wouldn't call it a masterpiece, it's also far from being 'crap'. The spring break serves as a spiritual journey in this experimental, postmodern coming-of-age story. Their dream is not necessarily the life of crime or money and power – it is all about the adventure itself. After Alien’s death they call their parents promising to work harder – they are ready to return to become responsible ‘adults’ after they have savoured the freedom of youth. This concept is a great reason to watch this film. It being kinda lost in the fragmented, unusual visual language of Korine, that's another question.

That's exactly it. This movie "might" have worked, if it wasn't so fragmented. The jumping backwards and forwards, using the same clips over and over, it made it very hard to understand what was supposed to be going on.

I would have thought that perhaps this is meant to be more the girls memories of events, being stoned throughout. But then we have the constantly repeated clips of jiggling tits and butt cheeks, which clearly squashes that theory.

I was tired and bored within the first give minutes of this movie, and just plain confused by the end. Perhaps that is what he was aiming for, but to me a good movie you should have SOME idea of what it was trying to tell/show you by the end.

the cinematography, the story and message of the film, the music and James Franco's performance. Quite a hell of a lot of good reasons to watch this "crap"

If zooming in to tits and bums is considered good cinematography then perhaps I should get in the biz. Maybe not, the slow motion shot of wiggling butt cheeks near the end almost make me sick.

If the story was good then why mask it in all that? Why constantly showing us the same clips over and over, clips that do NOTHING to advance the story, that seem to be there just in case we forget this movie is supposed to be about spring break.

The music, I admit it has a thumping bass line, really give the sub woofer a workout but I don't watch a movie for the music alone.

James Franco's performance was fine, except after the thing time he said "spring break forever" I wanted to shoot him myself. I get it, he is all about having a good time, now STFU already.

That's exactly what the Director wanted you to feel.

Why constantly showing us the same clips over and over

Done on purpose and was in fact one of the major points the director was making.

because all the controversy that came with its release I thought it was people overhyping women not prescribing to basic gender roles in films and thought this was going to be better version of thelma and louise.....turned out it was a *beep* movie with poor character development and either has a message of "well crazy *beep* happens sometimes right" or "you have to go through awful stuff to become a better person" or "YOLO"...sadly the last one is the only message the movie could have that could make me think its above average.

reply

Because it's HILARIOUS, because it's a great social commentary, and because I love dark satire and Harmony Korine.
