Pratt and Lawrence will drag the movie to hit status.
Unless Assassins Creed is a great movie, it will bomb. The studio already realizes this as the budget is suddenly being reported at 130 million compared to the 200 million it was at all times prior to now.
And the short length is also discouraging - it was 2 h 2 minutes for long and now it is barely 110 minutes?
This will probably suck.
Laura:You left a dead prostitute buried alone in the desert? Kyle:She's not alone.
I was one of those who believed that Passengers won't hurt AC. Like a said before (somewhere in one of the my old posts): Fessbender > Chris Pratt AC is full of action hence will draw very young population, young adults, and male population the most. Passengers is more romantic and dramatic hence will draw females more (who will draw their men, but not enough to increase numbers). AC is something new: a sci fi and a historical movie. Space movies, we get them at least twice a year so you see my point. AC already established a great fan base around the world, that will bring more people!
Bottom line, AC is fresh and Passengers is a rehash.
I hope you're right man! Macbeth was pretty good considering it was so faithful to the source material (Good thing and also a bad thing), and Assassin's Creed has the same Lead actor Director, supporting actress, and Cinematographer.
I've actually seen this coming. There is just something wrong with this movie. It tries to be serious forgetting that Lawrence and Pratt could hardly do one.
