People that believe this movie's message...

...are the same imbeciles who think ethanol releases more energy than octane and that burning tons of natural gas to process (and eventually ferment) ethanol from corn is 'energetically efficient.'

reply

This movie is not extreme..
The only extremes are the people talking about it that haven't even seen it..

reply

This from someone so remarkably stupid that they think we're burning "octane."

The civil war never really ended in North America did it?

reply

The REAL message, as stated in another thread is that corporations manipulate and take advantage of the public.

The second message was that there is a risk, but not a certainty of health complications. It was left very much up to the viewer. They didn't tell you the results of the vote, but Damon's character still said he thought it would be worth it, despite the risk. Then again he doesn't know *beep* about what actually goes on. He's a salesman. None of the characters do. I certainly don't. So how can the message be that there is or isn't a health hazard.

I believe that with governmental regulation and oversight fracking can and should be done. Its an unfortunate reality that corporations manipulate and take advantage of the public so much. The point of the movie, as many movies like this do, is to make you research the topic on your own.

reply

Governmental oversight and regulation? Have you see what the gov't has done to the Sacramento Delta? Nevada and California with protection of non-endangered species. Ban fracking and oil production altogether. See what happens to your lifestyle. Stop all the oil & gas production in NY & Pennsylvania. We have enough in North Dakota and Texas to meet the needs of those who support the oil & gas industry.

That's what it will come down to.

These liberal utopia's should be left to their own (like Detroit) and fenced off so anyone caught trying to leave and infect other states with the ideology of hate can be sent back to the bed they made (like Detroit).

Mexifornia, New York, etc., *beep* them all. Leave them to their insanity just make sure they dont flee.

Once all the white liberals are killed off for 'diversity adjustments' the rest can focus on irrigation and basket making and we can get back to the more important things like Gay Marriage and Transgender acceptance at schools.

reply

You have your master's talking points down pat. Maybe fencing out you Dittoheaded rednecks WOULD be a good solution. You see, red states are, for the most part, leeches. They receive more government money than they pay in, and it's the vast majority of the blue states that subsidize them. In other words, most of Mitt's 47% are from red states.

reply

....when it comes to global warming, don't you? You dopes want it both ways -- you make spurious quasi-scientific claims that "fracking is totally safe" --- but when real scientists discuss anthropogenic climate change (global warming) you screech it's all a liberal conspiracy. You only like "science" if it can make you rich (or bigger guns and bombs)

reply

I dont know what you message took from it. The movie told me not to trust a large concern, as they lie to you from either side.

Octane, often used that way as a rating system, is used to lower the combustion rate of gasoline. The higher the rating, the slower the burn.

And, no one but you is claiming ethanol is a super-fuel.
