This series felt like an assembly line production.

Revolution felt like an attempt to capitalize on everything that was popular on TV at the time. It just felt like a bunch of studio execs made a list of every show they wanted to rip off of.

1. Post-apocalyptic setting and survivors constantly fighting and murdering each other - The Walking Dead

2. Mystery that will be cryptic and dragged on as long as possible and end episodes on cliffhangers - Lost

3. Constant flashbacks to add "insight" into the characters' lives - Lost

4. Lots and lots of sword-fighting - Game of Thrones.

I did find the series moderately entertaining for a while before it just dragged and grew repetitive and had characters constantly switching sides and loyalties.

I once saw a film that had a red car in it.
complete rip off of Spielberg's "Duel"

Now I think about it Mad Max 2 had a tanker truck in it
complete rip off of Spielberg's "Duel"

I know you're being sarcastic, but that's no comparison. You're talking about a specific object in a movie. I'm referring to entire storytelling structures clearly patterned after other TV series that were massively popular at the time or just a few years prior.
