Underrated best Sci-Fi since 2001

There is something about it like 2001 and Moon. There are movies like Armageddon and Star Wars and Star Trek where ships magically turn instantly and always need thrust to move and there are not terms of orbits or anything. Europa Report is different. It doesn't need fancy explosions and strange physics. All it needs is a plot, realism and an intellectual theme. Is movie might not be understood by those unintelligent of beings used to fancy unnecessary CGI from Hollywood since this movie was made on a shoestring budget and makes everything look and feel real. The creators even consulted NASA to make sure there were no scientific errors!
Also what is unique is at everyone was always interested in Mars and the Moon, but no one was interested in a very Interestng moon of Jupiter which is probable to hold more life than Mars.
The movie deserves at least a 8/10 for such a brilliant work. -2 for strange time leaps which might confuse.

spot on my friend. I really enjoyed this one, and I am not a fan of documentary style flicks. this one pulls it off nicely. very real feeling. kudos to the film's creators.

Sci-fi doesn't need realism. Not even too much of a plot. Which is ironic since you're the one hailing 2001.

Clearly you either don't know the genre very well or don't like it much.

I really enjoyed this movie. I'm very lucky to have found out about it with my Fandango app or I would have never known about it. This movie gave me goosebumps big time. Even my favorite all time movie didn't give me goosebumps. I watched it ondemand at home but I would play to see it again if a local theater was showing in on IMAX.
ER is truly a great film. 9/10.

If you believe even for a second that this movie is scientifically accurate, then my friend, you are the unintelligent one. The whole movie is full of plot devices that have as much to do with actual science as USA has to do with spreading democracy.

My job is to watch stupid movies and complain about them on IMDB

Except for that fact that on the whole, the film actually IS remarkably scientifically accurate? So much so that scientists all over the world have been praising it? I agree. Suberb movie. Gave it a 9/10.

Actually liked it better than Gravity (8/10).

If you said Best HARD Sci-fi since 2k1, I would agree. There were some other ones I liked better, but for subjective reasons.

This must be the idiot thread or thread from people who made this movie trying to sell it right?

The movie is a total crapola flop, 4/10 at best.....

Straight into the b maybe c movie crap list it goes....

Sunshine kills this crap. Story was there but got dumbed down and camera work and effects are non existant unless you're from the bizarro world.

I dare you to buy this crap, like I did.

Sunshine was amazing, up until the 3rd act. Beautifully shot film, I just hated the 'killer on the loose' ending.

Yeah, the last 3rd of Sunshine was total crap. Until then, epic!

Elysium however was a mediocre 5/10 flick in my books. Just filled with plot holes and illogicalities.

This one has no plot, it's boring, lacks intensity, suspense and captivating mpments
