Do you think he got any money for this movie?

They used his likeness for the death story and on the grave looked like an actual photo of him.

Seemed weird to include his likeness and face so much. l Understand he’s a big character from the original but facing facts the actual actor is a massive peadophile. I thought they were going to write around his character, maybe use as a plot device but subtle so was surprised they included him and his likeness so much despite killing him off

I kept wondering why the dad was not included very much in the movie (including being killed off early in the film), or they had his head bitten off by a shark. It's sad, hearing what kind of a disgusting monster the actor turned into. Though to be fair, most of his roles weren't likeable characters either.

Back before when he wasn’t charged I always found him an interesting actor. He was sprinkled in the 80’s with some villain roles and had some good roles in the later years in deadwood and one of my fav movies Ravenous.
He has been struck of the list to ever be used again in film and tv so that’s why I was surprised. Using his likeness he must have got money as that goes back to the screen actors guild case when crispin glover sued when they used his likeness in BTTF PART 2 without paying or advising him

It's too bad that they couldn't have tried recasting him with a different actor that looked and sounded similar, but didn't have the baggage the original actor did.

I think by doing that you add a distraction as he was a big character in the original

That's also why I think they left out Barbara and Adam too. The writers basically didn't know what to do with them, as well as Lydia's dad, so they just plain got rid of them.

Im not sure what the difference is in using him vs his likeness. It still reminds everyone of the actor.
In my opinion the film suffered tremendously without his involvement. He grounded the original and kept it from getting too contrived and meandering into pointless plot points, without him this film was kind of terrible.

I agree, would have been great to have him in it but with his criminal record it was out of the question.
Deadwood the movie didn’t seem to have an issue bringing him back but I don’t think he had a line?
