"Gremlins" Easter Egg

I heard that at one point, Delia somehow got into the Netherworld and saw the Waiting Room (don't ask me why, I don't know), and we see someone who might be familiar to fans of the first "Gremlins" movie, which is a possible hint that this is the same universe the Gremlins are in too.

Rumor has it that the "Santa Clause" guy on the left is Kate's dad, who died tragically trying to impersonate Santa when she was a little girl. When he attempted to come down the chimney, he slipped and broke his neck, and his family didn't know he was dead until they noticed the smell, and the fire dept. got him out days later. So Kate hates Christmas because she lost her dad as a child during that holiday, and the memory is very painful to her.

I guess we now know what happened to him in the afterlife.
