My biggest problem with demon movies

Honestly if demons are real I don't get why God is completely worthless in these movies lol. Like the one pastor she goes to is a demon lunatic himself. The movie's typically end the same, they bring in some priest who takes a massive L but then they find an ancient ritual to stop the evil demon...

Like can't Christianity have some power? If Satan and Demons are real how is God not?

It just seems like they are always the same about some ancient demonic prophecy being fulfilled. Now I would go pay to see a movie if in the last scene an angel comes down from heaven and we get like a 20 minutes fight scene lol, that would be worth watching.

Actually, there are a lot of exorcism movies that result in the demons being cast out via Christian/Catholic exorcism rituals. The reason why, in a lot of horror movies, is that "the power of GOOD pales compared to that of EVIL" is the same as why Freddy Krueger keeps coming back, or why even when you think a hero(or heroine) in a horror movie wins, they really don't(at least until the next sequel). Horror, as movies, stories and such, is much more effective if there's a sense of chaos and hopelessness. Even if the good, by some chance, prevail, there's always the anticipation that it's short-lived and evil can come back. That's what makes horror horrific. It's never-ending. Kinda like the saying in Stephen King's Storm of the Century, "I'm going to eat your eyes... over and over, because hell is repetition!".

Of course, from a marketing standpoint, why would you want good to win? If you are banking on an original IP to become a franchise, evil HAS to come back... over and over. You can give the audience faith that, perhaps, someone will defeat it, but that's only until the next sequel is made.

That all being said, this movie was crap. LOL!

This sums Christians up perfectly. You watch something that is quite easily fiction and relate it to your made up religion. This just shows how your minds work.

I guess being raised on fiction and being told it is real I can't blame you all. It is a sad sad time when we look at how far the human race has come. Then we still have these old made up stories being told as facts.

You know Father Christmas is not real right? Fairies? Why do you know this? No evidence right? Nothing... Made up yea? God is exactly the same. No evidence, made up. The only difference is that your parents told you Father Christmas was not real.

So sad.

SOME people like his kind--the other people who evolved over millennia, developing functioning brains in the process.

When people who turn to myth and superstition to explain everything, rather than science and philosophy, don't think much of you, it's usually a sign you are doing something right.

Of course, the real trick is having the tact and personal charisma to enlighten others, getting them to joyfully cast off the shackles of whatever church/religion/cult they have been using as a crutch, instead of insulting them.

I was referring to rudeness and childish behaviour.

You're saying they/you like other similar types. I'm sure they do as far as discussing the merits of atheism goes, or bullying people on the internets.

But wouldn't they hardly tolerate each other once focus shifts to other topics they no longer agree on?

Unless they are either sadists or such a behaviour is solely reserved for the aforementioned topic of discussion, as sort of an unspoken agreement in your circles?

I'm sure it is a real pain to control oneself and pretend not to be a massive a**hole for even a limited amount of time.
Psychologically fatiguing too. But it has its perks. The rush you get from successfully subjugating and/or deceiving others, merely thanks to your vastly superior intellect, is quite pleasurable.

God has given us all the tools we need to cast out demons ourselves, if our faith is strong enough. It is not a game of chess where the demons does one move and the angels respond. When a demon does break trough the vale, those of strong spirit and faith will cast them back from whence they came.

The movie The Exorcism of Emily Rose had a good scene that explains it. While she was being possessed, God came to here in one of her visions saying that their is a war going on between the two sides. He wished he could help but the demons in her will stay where they are and so forth. They can't always win or something.
