Tom Sawyer cartoon and the episode about slavery...
I know this has nothing to do with 12 Years A Slave, but this came to mind because I recently watched 12 Years a Slave and it kind of reminded me of an episode from an old Tom Sawyer cartoon. In particular, there was an episode about a runaway slave and Tom helped him escape to freedom.
Obviously nowhere near as graphic as 12 Years A Slave (it's a cartoon), but it doesn't have to be anyway. I've never seen a cartoon go so hard with the subject of slavery and be so direct about it. They didn't mess around. Great episode. Had me on the edge of my seat.
